IV Therapy & Vascular Access Device Care and Maintenance

4 Hour hands-on course: This course gives the skilled care provider a comprehensive overview of Peripheral IV insertion and care and maintenance of all Vascular Access Devices.

IV Insertion & Therapy Device Management

2 Hour hands-on course: This course gives the skilled care provider a comprehensive overview of residential infusion therapy. It will improve clinical competency and reduce negative patient outcomes.

Essentials of Infection Prevention

This Infection Prevention Pathway includes a comprehensive series of courses designed to guide the clinician to a better understanding of guidelines and best practices they should incorporate into everyday patient care practices.

Adult PICC/Ultrasound Workshop

This class is for the beginning inserter and includes two days of intensive training. Day 1 covers review and discussion of a basic PICC insertion and a practicum with simulated insertions. Day 2 integrates ultrasound assessment and guided access into the overall PICC insertion procedures.

Basics of IV Administration

This program equips the clinician with the basics regarding IV infusion from the beginning of the infusion, calculating drip rates, and equipment through troubleshooting. This program is vital for the safety of the patient so the clinician can provide the most appropriate care when administering IV infusions.

Total Parenteral Nutrition

1 hour In-Service covers the administration of TPN-reviews lab draws, MD Orders, Pharmacy/Dietary communication. Explain and review process and order if central line access is lost. Provides a working understanding of TPN administration in the long term care setting.
